Good morning, weather watchers! This is your friendly neighborhood meteorologist coming to you with the latest forecast for the New Orleans area.

We've got some exciting weather brewing, so buckle up! We're starting off with a Dense Fog Advisory and a Wind Advisory, so visibility might be tricky this morning.

Overnight, expect widespread dense fog before 5 am, with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping to a mild 64 degrees. The south wind will be gentle, around 5 miles per hour.

Friday brings some morning fog, but then things clear up to a partly sunny day with temperatures reaching near 80 degrees. Expect south winds between 5 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 25 miles per hour.

Friday night gets interesting with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Temperatures will hover around 72 degrees with south winds around 15 miles per hour and gusts up to 25 miles per hour.

Saturday is our most dramatic day! We're looking at a high chance of showers and potential thunderstorms. Some of these storms could be severe, so stay alert. Temperatures will peak near 80 degrees with breezy south winds between 15 to 25 miles per hour and gusts up to 40 miles per hour.

The weekend continues with a cooler Sunday, sunny skies, and temperatures around 72 degrees. Monday and Tuesday look gorgeous with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid 70s.

By Wednesday, we might see a slight chance of showers with temperatures around 78 degrees.
