Good morning, weather watchers! I'm your meteorologist with the latest forecast for the Gretna area in Louisiana.
Let's break down this chilly winter weekend for you. Tonight, we're looking at a crisp, clear evening with temperatures dipping down to a cool 40 degrees. A gentle northeast wind will be whispering around 5 miles per hour, so keep that light jacket handy.
Sunday is shaping up to be a beautiful day with wall-to-wall sunshine and temperatures climbing to a comfortable 55 degrees. That northeast breeze will be dancing between 5 to 10 miles per hour, perfect for a brisk afternoon walk.
As we roll into the work week, expect more of that delightful winter sunshine. Monday will warm up to near 65 degrees, and Tuesday will bring us even more mild temperatures around 68 degrees.
But hold onto your umbrellas, folks! Things get interesting midweek. Tuesday night, we've got a 30 percent chance of showers moving in, and by Christmas Day, we're looking at a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with temperatures climbing to a balmy 71 degrees.
The latter part of the week continues the wet trend, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible Thursday through Saturday. Temperatures will hover in the low to mid 70s, keeping things mild for this time of year.
