Custom.

Feast days on the calendar?

Custom.

Which way the priest faces?

Custom.

But who Christ is,

what the Trinity is,

which books are Scripture,

and whether the Apostles still speak through succession—

that’s not up for a vote.

This song is about the difference between

tradition (lowercase t)

and Tradition (Capital T).

One adapts.

The other binds.

Confuse them—and you lose both.

Distinguish them—and the faith finally makes sense.
