Richard Welsh, the Volunteer Fishing Bailiff at the Heath, says the new three year plan (currently with the Council) will build on the success they've had of improving water quality (especially algal growth) and bringing more wildlife; this year Kingfishers have returned, herons nested, warblers and grebe were seen for the first time.
On Sunday 3 November they have volunteers help clear some willow growth.
If you'd like to help, meet in the main car park at 8am and bring waders!
Richard is also concerned about poaching and catapult crime that targets swans and geese.
He spoke to Mike Waddington.
