Segment 1: "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley (1994) is better than "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen (1984)

Mary (@maryvarn) contends that Jeff Buckley's rendition of Hallelujah from the 1994 album "Grace" is better than that of the writer of the song, Leonard Cohen, who released the original version on his "Various Positions" album in 1984.

Cohen's album wasn't even released in the US until a year or two later, while Buckley's version is considered one of the 500 greatest songs of all time. 

Buckley died shortly before the final legs of work began on his second album, so the success of his album and this song are posthumous.

Segment 2: "The Departed" (2006) is better than "Infernal Affairs" (2004)

Julien (@beautifuljules) contends that the Martin Scorsese film from 2006, The Departed, is marginally better than the Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs, upon which The Departed is based.
