New UK travel rules cause confusion for Australians

The United Kingdom has implemented new border control requirements for Australian travellers, mandating an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) costing $32 for entry. Dual Australian-British citizens face additional complications, requiring either a valid British passport or a Certificate of Entitlement costing over $1,100. Qantas and Singapore Airlines have temporarily eased restrictions, allowing dual citizens to travel with a current Australian passport and an expired UK passport issued in 1989 or later.
