In this podcast, Kate Broun from Cancer Council Victoria drops by Vision Australia Radio to discuss the importance of bowel screening and an alarming decline in screening numbers.
Consider the people you know in your life who are aged 50 or above, do they have the bowel screening test at home, waiting to be done? Those people in your life could be living with bowel cancer.
Cancer Council Victoria, with support of the Victorian Government, has launched a new campaign hitting screens and airwaves across the state to address the concerning figures which show a decline in bowel screening. This decline in bowel screening coincides with concerning data from the Victorian Cancer Registry that reported 3,800 fewer cancer diagnoses than what was expected in Victoria over 2020 and 2021, with the greatest decline in missed cancer diagnoses occurring in bowel cancer.
