What Should We Carry Out Of Lockdown 

What did the Israelites take from Egypt that would prepare and resource them for their new season of freedom?

1. New Worship

Exodus 10:26 NLT

“All our livestock must go with us, too; not a hoof can be left behind. We must choose our sacrifices for the Lord our God from among these animals. And we won’t know how we are to worship the Lord until we get there.””

“We won’t know how to worship the Lord until we get here”… 

But God’s people didn’t wait until they got OUT to be prepared for what was coming…SO THAT, they could WORSHIP God. 

In lockdown these beasts were for food, for work, for survival… but God had always intended for them to be used for Worship!

So let’s be careful and not too quickly throw away everything we have collected during this season of captivity/lockdown…

What have you used to thrive in this lockdown season? 

• Community

  • The gathering / Life groups 

  • Teams

• Personal Devotion

  • Bible reading and study

1. New Wealth 

Exodus 11:2 NLT

Tell all the Israelite men and women to ask their Egyptian neighbours for articles of silver and gold.”

There is wealth contained in your past season of captivity…God commands us to plunder our past to provide for our future…..

Lockdown has made many of us feel trapped in certain areas of our life…made us feel stuck…and the temptation is to RUN AWAY fro those challenges instead of dealing with them. 

What do you need to deal with before you just move on?! 

• Marriage // Friendships // Leadership // Work Challenges // Mental Health // Physical Health // Habits 

When we are willing knock on the door of of our captors…(deal with our stuff)  We can find NEW WEALTH there…provision for the NEW SEASON that God is bringing us into! 

1. New People

Exodus 12:37-38 NLT

“That night the people of Israel left Rameses and started for Succoth. There were about 600,000 men, plus all the women and children. A rabble of non-Israelites went with them, along with great flocks and herds of livestock.

Lets look at the new people we can expect to see join the church as we move forward into our new world…

• Rabbles follow favour and momentum …BECAUSE they can’t generate it on their own…but they will chase it! This is exciting….the church will see an extraordinary increase people new to faith!!

• They weren’t with you in your suffering, but they will be with you in your success…..We have to be OK with that. 

1. New You

YOU are a new person…you are not the same person you were when you left 2019…..

EXODUS 19:4-6 NLT

‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. 5Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. 6And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’
