NEW Xbox Project Helix Situation

Major gaming news just dropped for the upcoming Xbox console, Project Helix. At the Game Developers Conference 2026 (GDC), Microsoft revealed early details about the next generation Xbox console codenamed Project Helix. The upcoming Xbox platform is expected to feature a powerful custom AMD chip, improved ray tracing performance, machine learning upscaling, and deeper integration with Windows and PC gaming. Microsoft also confirmed that Project Helix developer kits will begin shipping in 2027, hinting at a potential next-gen Xbox launch window in 2027 or later.

At the same time, Electronic Arts confirmed layoffs across multiple Battlefield studios despite the success of Battlefield 6. The cuts reportedly impacted developers at DICE, Criterion, Ripple Effect, and Motive as EA reorganizes the Battlefield franchise going forward.
