Hello Everyone! Happy New Year!
As we begin 2018, what seems strikingly different is that we the humans are no longer confined to the silo intelligence nature offers. The advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, data science, computing and more has given us the capability to have artificial machine intelligence that has put humans on the path to collective machine intelligence.
Considering the efforts across nations towards creating collective human intelligence on the back of collective machine intelligence, the collective machine/human brain that is in formation will likely have an unmatched ability to design, modify and build even better forms of intelligence in the coming years. As a result, there is a great hope that since there will likely be no limits to collective machine intelligence, there will likely be no limits to intelligence, innovation, progress, and advancement for humankind. It is the collective human intelligence powered by machine intelligence that will help us create the worlds, that never were, in cyberspace, geospace and space (CGS). So, as we integrate human intelligence with massive machine intelligence, our relationship with everything in cyberspace, geospace and space enhances, amplifies and fundamentally changes.
While there is no way to predict just how this intelligence revolution or evolution will unfold in the coming years, one thing is clear, the information and intelligence silos are breaking across nations: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA).
As a result, it is important to evaluate:
* What impact we will see because of imminent break down in NGIOA silos?
* How will it shape the information and intelligence processes?
* Where is the intelligence evolutionary journey going?
* What are the risks and rewards?
* Where do we go from here?
As we evaluate all these, it is becoming clear that irrespective of cyberspace, geospace or space, Collective Intelligence can enhance outcomes at all levels by improving how individuals and entities across NGIOA manage the risks across their networks. The act of managing risks effectively so as to achieve security in cyberspace, geospace and space is a powerful motivator that should unite the global community to help create a new world – a better world – that can be a stepping stone to the Space Age.
As the human society becomes more and more knowledge-dependent and risk conscious this proposed collective risk intelligence ability becomes of fundamental importance. Among other things, it is therefore vital to understand, how this collective risk intelligence processes can be expanded and transformed using the technology of today and the coming tomorrow.
Perhaps a closing question for us to ponder is how do these new kinds of collective human intelligence will help us understand what it means to be an accountable human in the first place, and what our role as humans on the earth is. I believe and hope that this approach to thinking about collective human intelligence can help us to understand not only what it means to be individual humans, but also what it means for us as humans to be part of some broader collective system of humanity.
It is said that none of us knows everything, but we all know something. The capacity of NGIOA communities to evolve towards higher order of integration and performance through collaboration and innovation is the need of the time.
It’s important to recognize the special symbolism “Global Peace through Risk Management” brings with it. A new year, a time of new beginnings and fresh starts also comes with it a time of reflection and responsibilities. Whether your resolutions consist of securing your life, the life of your loved ones or the whole world, managing risks, individually and collectively, will be the first step we all will need to take.
