NEW YEAR'S DAY 2021

Listen Later

Today is our last day of offering you some resources to evaluate and prepare for real change in the new year. For this final session, you might want to take notes on your phone or ipad, or grab a pen and piece of paper. You may also be prepared to hit the pause button a lot as you work through this or so you can write it down. If you take this resource seriously, you’ll need to commit some time to it.

As I work through the questions, I will give a few seconds of silence to allow for pausing and hitting play. Here we go …

What was your greatest accomplishment in 2020?

What were any other worthwhile accomplishments or successes from this past year?

What would be at least one lesson you learned from those successes in 2020?

What was your greatest struggle or failure this past year?

What would be at least one lesson you learned from your struggles/failures in 2020?

To whom or to what did you contribute the most value in 2020?

How or why were you able to contribute that value?

Who or what did you neglect this past year?

How can you change that in 2021?

What was the greatest truth God showed you in 2020?

What was one area or situation this year where you think you missed God?

What can you learn from that to avoid it happening again in 2021?

Thinking through your entire life, when was the highest point of your Christian life? (If this year has been your spiritual high point, write that down.)

What do you think made that season your high point?

If that point is a 10 on a scale, from 1 to 10, how would you rate 2020 for you spiritually?

What is one step you can in 2021 to get back to or surpass your greatest season of spiritual growth?

What is an old thing you need to stop in 2021?

What is one new thing you need to start in 2021?

What is one thing you would like to see God do in your life in 2021?

What is one thing you believe God would want to see you do in 2021?

That’s it. We hope and pray this tool and everything we have you given you this past week can lay a solid foundation for you to have the best year of your life, and remember Mark 10:27: “With God, all things are possible.”

At Solo Parents Society, we borrow Paul’s words from Ephesians 3 as our prayer for you in 2021:

When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

As above, so below.
