Step into the historic heart of Avignon on New Year's Day, as the city awakens to a new year. This recording captures the tranquil atmosphere in front of the majestic Palais Des Papes, moments before the iconic bells of Notre Dame Des Doms chime in, announcing the start of the New Year's Day Mass. 

As we listen we are reminded of the rich history of Avignon as the Papal city, where for over 70 years, the Pope's throne was situated within these very walls. The echoes of centuries past whisper through the stones, infusing this moment with a sense of reverence and awe.
