As we enter a new year, many of us will make resolutions. With good intentions, we’ll try to improve ourselves—evaluating where we are, imagining who we want to become, and mapping a plan to get there. Others of us won’t bother with resolutions at all, quietly hoping that somehow, by year’s end, we’ll be better than we are today.
