  • Your Thoughts Become Your Life w/ Ron Creech

What if the biggest thing shaping your future isn't your circumstances, your talent, or even your opportunities but the conversation happening inside your own mind every single day?

For the first-ever solo episode of Next Rung Radio, Ron Creech steps behind the microphone without a guest to unpack one of the foundational truths behind the Next Rung philosophy:

You become what you continuously think about.

The thoughts you repeatedly rehearse begin shaping your beliefs. Your beliefs shape your identity. Your identity influences your choices. Your choices become actions and those actions eventually produce the life you're living.

Ron calls this The Ladder of the Mind, and it all happens inside what he calls The Becoming Zone.

    But there's a problem.

Many people aren't stuck because they lack talent, ability, or opportunity. They're stuck because they're still rehearsing an identity that belongs to an older version of themselves:

    I'm not ready.

    I'm too old.

I don't have what it takes.

I've tried before and it didn't work.

Repeat something long enough and eventually it begins to feel like truth even when it isn't.

In this episode, Ron explores the connection between faith, responsibility, vision, discipline, identity, and action, and why you can't build a new life using an old internal blueprint.

He also introduces a simple but powerful distinction:

Responsibility isn't blame. Responsibility is ownership and ownership gives you the power to move.

Ron closes with a practical Next Rung Challenge built around three questions:

    What have I been rehearsing?

    Who am I becoming?

What is one faithful action I can take in the next 24 hours?

Because you don't need to reinvent your entire life today.

You may simply need to change what you're rehearsing, renew your mind, clarify your vision, and take one faithful step.

Your life doesn't change when you admire the ladder. Your life changes when you climb.

    Key Takeaways

    • Your repeated thoughts are quietly shaping the person you're becoming.
    • Responsibility isn't blame it's ownership, and ownership creates movement.
    • You don't need the whole staircase. You need one faithful action in the next 24 hours.

  • Successful on the Outside. Miserable on the Inside - Featuring Simon Davis

What if the life you've worked so hard to build looks successful to everyone else—but deep down, you know you're living the wrong one?

On this episode of Next Rung Radio, Ron Creech sits down with personal development and mindset coach Simon Davis, founder of Elite Aligned and creator of the Disruption Methodology, for a powerful conversation about identity, limiting beliefs, purpose, mindset, and breaking the patterns that quietly keep us stuck.

Simon had built multimillion-dollar companies, owned a helicopter business in Los Angeles, made money, acquired the toys, and created what looked like an incredibly successful life.

    But inside, he was miserable.

Eventually Simon reached an emotional breaking point, dropped to his knees, and asked God to show him another way. The very next day, personal development entered his life and began a journey that would completely change how he understood himself, his thinking, and ultimately his purpose.

Simon realized something that became central to his work:

You can't create a new life while dragging the old version of yourself into it.

Through his Disruption Methodology, Simon now helps people become aware of the thoughts controlling their behavior, question where those thoughts came from, reject patterns that no longer serve them, replace them with something more empowering, and repeatedly reinforce the new identity they're trying to create.

Ron and Simon also break transformation down into something anyone can begin practicing immediately: stop waiting for the perfect moment, start with small actions, practice gratitude, learn to forgive yourself and others, and find opportunities to serve.

Because transformation isn't just about achieving more.

It's about becoming more aligned with who you were meant to be.

This conversation challenges an important question:

Are you building the life you actually want or simply living from patterns, beliefs, and expectations you never consciously chose?

Because sometimes reaching the next rung doesn't require adding something new.

It requires disrupting what's been quietly holding you back.

    Key Takeaways

    • You can't create a new life while protecting an old identity.
    • Small, consistent actions can disrupt patterns that have controlled you for years.
    • Love yourself, practice gratitude, serve others, and forgive what you no longer need to carry.

  • Build Your Life One Decision At A Time - Featuring Josh Huisman

What if changing your life doesn't require changing everything at once but making one committed decision and following it with the next right step?

On this episode of Next Rung Radio, Ron Creech sits down with longtime friend Josh Heisman, former SEC baseball player, musician, pastor, podcaster, husband, father, and transformation coach—for a powerful conversation about faith, discipline, identity, health, and what it really takes to become a different version of yourself.

Josh's journey has taken him from playing SEC baseball at Ole Miss alongside his two brothers to music and eventually ministry. But one of his greatest transformations began much later, sitting in a recliner at nearly 270 pounds and questioning what the next five to ten years of his life might look like.

Instead of accepting where he was, Josh made a committed decision to change.

He began building a simple plan around his spiritual life, mindset, exercise, and nutrition—not attempting to transform overnight, but making small changes he could consistently repeat. Eventually those actions stopped feeling like a diet or temporary program and became part of his identity. More than three years later, Josh has lost roughly 70–80 pounds and says the biggest transformation wasn't the number on the scale.

It was becoming someone who no longer wanted to go back.

Josh also shares the framework emerging from his journey, heart, mind, and strength and explains why lasting transformation begins internally before it ever becomes visible externally.

This conversation challenges a question we all need to ask:

Are you waiting for your life to change or are you taking the next step that gives change somewhere to begin?

Because transformation rarely happens through one giant leap.

It's built one decision, one habit, and one rung at a time.

    Key Takeaways

    • A decision changes direction, but a committed decision changes your life.
    • Small actions repeated consistently can eventually become your new identity.
    • Lasting transformation starts with the heart, moves through the mind, and shows up in your actions.

  • The Story She Was Never Supposed to Survive - Featuring Alexa Bast

What if the darkest chapter of your life could become the very thing that helps someone else survive theirs?

On this episode of Next Rung Radio, Ron Creech sits down with Alexa Bast, communications and public relations professional, social media creator, survivor, and advocate working to raise awareness about human trafficking across Tennessee.

Alexa shares an incredibly personal story of growing up feeling isolated, being bullied, and eventually becoming vulnerable to grooming that led to trafficking, sexual assault, and exploitation as a young teenager. What began with an online friendship and what seemed like an innocent sleepover changed the trajectory of her life.

But this conversation isn't simply about what Alexa survived.

It's about what she chose to do with it.

Alexa opens up about rebuilding her confidence, finding people who became "guardian angels" in her life, seeking professional help, learning to understand how trauma affected her, and eventually transforming her experience into purpose. Today, she works with the Tennessee Businesses Against Trafficking (TBAT) program through the Tennessee Secretary of State's office, helping businesses and organizations recognize the signs of trafficking and understand how ordinary people can potentially help someone in danger.
Alexa also challenges the idea that healing has to look a certain way. Sometimes thriving means accomplishing something extraordinary. Other times, surviving means simply getting out of bed and making it through another day and both deserve to be celebrated.

This conversation leaves us with an important question:

What if being someone's "guardian angel" doesn't require doing something heroic...but simply noticing, listening, and letting them know they matter?

Because sometimes reaching the next rung isn't about forgetting what happened to you.

It's about refusing to let what happened to you decide what happens next.

    Key Takeaways

    • Your darkest chapter does not have to become your final chapter.
    • Sometimes the greatest gift you can give someone is simply letting them know they matter.
    • Survival itself is worth celebrating — healing doesn't have to look the same for everyone.

  • "Trust The Gift You Were Given" - Featuring DeAnn Hebert

On this episode of Next Rung Radio, Ron Creech sits down with artist, entrepreneur, wife, and mother DeAnn Hebert, whose remarkable journey proves that extraordinary careers rarely begin with extraordinary circumstances.

Armed with nothing more than a God-given gift, a dream, and a $200 Costco tent, Deanne stepped into her very first art festival with no gallery, no agent, no connections, and no guarantee anyone would buy a single painting.

That first $50 sale didn't make her rich...

It gave her something even more valuable.

    Validation that her gift mattered.

In this inspiring conversation, DeAnn shares why rejection became redirection, why comparison is one of the greatest enemies of creativity, how mentors helped shape her business, and why she believes every artist and every entrepreneur already possesses the gift they need to build something meaningful.

Whether you're launching a business, writing a book, starting a podcast, or chasing a lifelong dream, this episode is a reminder that success isn't reserved for those with perfect circumstances.

It's earned by those willing to begin.

    Because sometimes...

The next rung starts with a Costco tent.

    Key Takeaways

  • Clarity Changes Everything - Featuring Producer | Best Selling Author Jo Jo Hill

What if the biggest thing standing between you and the life you want isn't talent, opportunity, or even money but the quality of the decisions you're making?

On this episode of Next Rung Radio, Ron Creech sits down with entrepreneur, best-selling author, award-winning music producer, songwriter, and decision-making strategist R.W. “JoJo” Hill for a powerful conversation about clarity, purpose, talent, faith, and the choices that ultimately shape our lives.

After more than three decades in music and business, JoJo noticed something fascinating: some incredibly talented people still struggled not because they lacked ability, but because they couldn't consistently make clear decisions.

That realization eventually became The Clarity Code, his ten-filter system designed to remove emotion, assumptions, past experiences, and unnecessary noise from major decisions. His first filter? Facts.

JoJo also shares the remarkable story of recognizing his calling as a child after reading the credits on Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life, and why he believes everyone is born with a gift but turning that gift into something valuable requires development, discipline, planning, and execution.

This conversation challenges a question we don't ask ourselves often enough:

Are you actually moving toward your purpose...or are you simply staying busy?

Because sometimes reaching the next rung isn't about doing more.

It's about getting clear enough to know what deserves your next move.

    Key Takeaways

    • Clarity comes from filtering the noise.
    • Your gift becomes valuable when you develop it.
    • A strong plan makes saying no easier.
