NFL owners approved the expansion of the regular season to 17 games, a long-expected decision that will generate additional revenue for the country's richest sports league. 

Additionally, the NFL's competition committee has endorsed six potential rule changes for the 2021 season, including a proposal that would expand the scope of information that replay officials could provide to on-field officiating crews during games.
