Housing in Austin is no joke if you’re going to the University of Texas. Make sure you don’t fall for the fancy showrooms in those nice apartment complexes. They’re not as pretty as you think. I learned the hard way when they put me in a closet and charged me $800/month. I quickly got out of that lease and had to commute from Houston and sleep on a friend’s couch for two weeks. I was homeless.

Joke: Why can’t you hear a pterodactyl go to the bathroom? (Listen for the answer at the end!)

Having friends is an important factor in our lives. They help you when you're feeling down. And without them, we wouldn't be the people we are today. If it weren't for my close friend, I wouldn't have gotten my tutoring job!

I told everyone my food was 5 stars when it was really 3 stars - and that's being generous. So I looked up recipes on Youtube, came across Jamie Oliver's perfect scrambled eggs and eventually found Tasty and Bon Appétit's Videos. Next thing I knew, I started to bake, making trips to HEB at 1 AM in the morning to make carrot cake until 3:28 AM. It's the final part to how I started my cooking journey! But, the fun won't end there. Stay tuned for more possible recipes and story time!

Music is defined in a number of ways, depending on the person performing it. Don't let others demean or change your meaning of music. You're a musician. As long as you have your instrument and musical skills, you're free to express your own music!

This book Anything You Want by Derek Sivers reignited my fire to read. It was a nice short book with so many awesome tidbits that really made you empathize and have those "Ah!!! That's Me!" moments! Totally worth checking out if you want to get into reading again and have an hour to spare!

My cooking journey continues as I venture to another state! As a high schooler trying to be a college student in Summer of 2015, I had to learn to cook because if I didn't, I starved. My first time cooking pasta was a success! In a dingy apartment in Berkeley, we made kimchi fried rice,  spicy Korean rice cakes (Tteokbokki), and snow pea leaves with garlic. If I didn't want to starve, I had to get in the kitchen and try.

School orchestra can be a fun experience where we can play music that brings joy to others. However, for a handful of school orchestras, it’s not all about bringing the joy, it’s about building up the orchestra director’s reputation.
