I have an inward treasure born with me, which can keep me alive if all extraneous delights should be withheld, or offered only at a price I cannot afford to give.
如果外在的欢娱需要我以内心不可承受的代价去换取，我宁愿放弃这欢娱，我的内心生来富足，靠着这份内心的富足我也能够好好活下去。

-they suffer from too rigid a restraint, to absolute a stagnation, precisely as men would suffer; 
当受到周遭环境的束缚而无法施展自我时，她们也会感到痛苦，这和男人是一样的。
-and it is narrow-minded in their more privileged fellow-creatures to say that they ought to confine themselves to making puddings and knitting stockings, to playing on the piano and embroidering bags.
狭隘的男人总是自诩为更高等的生物，他们要求女子只能待在家中织布纺纱、刺绣弹琴、操劳家务。

Some of the best people that ever lived have been as destitute as I am; and if you are a Christian, you ought not to consider poverty a crime.
