In which we accompany Nicholas and his uncle on a visit to the grim premises of Mr Wackford Squeers, a schoolmaster whose air combines rustic severity with a curious sort of crooked hospitality, as negotiations are made to secure Nicholas an assistant teaching post at the peculiar Dotheboys Hall.
