Publisher's Summary:
Did you know that Nicholas of Myra lived during a time of Roman oppressive and persecution? When his faith was outlawed and his people afflicted, Nicholas boldly stood against the tyranny.
After a betrayal, this average Roman soldier found himself left for dead, floating in the ice-cold Danube River to the far north of Rome. If not for the aid of a clandestine race of Earth-bound Angels, known as Elves by the Scandinavians, Nicholas would have been a name long forgotten.
After uncovering the truth behind his betrayal and the stolen love back home in Lycia, Nicholas left the Realm and traveled with the Nordic sailors, honing his skills as a warrior, and venturing home on a path for revenge.
His quest swept Nicholas upon a grand adventure culminating in the fulfillment of his destiny: becoming the saint we now know as Santa Claus. Nicholas: The Fantastic Origin of Santa Claus written by Cody W Urban is the thrilling exploration into the legends and myths behind numerous Christmas traditions.

Awesome story!
Fun; Exciting; "Cinematic"
Nicholas is the as-yet untold story about the origins of Saint Nicholas of Lyra, who would eventually come to be known as Santa Claus. Although it's fiction, there are elements of truth to it in the way it incorporates and explains many of the popular (and some of the not-as-popular) modern day themes and traditions of Christmas.
The story is exciting and engaging and is told in a style reminiscent of many popular cinematic adventures. After a few chapters I was hooked, and constantly found myself pulled back to continue the tale every chance I got. This is a back-story that deserves to be associated with the already popular, modern-day legend of Santa Claus, and will one day hopefully be a part of the accepted lore. I highly recommend it.
Good with reservations.
This book is best for teenagers. I liked the theme of the river of destiny, and it was well written in a Tolkien style. I didn't appreciate the numerous kissing scenes, and all the details of battles for being a book about a peacemaker. The character's virtue is somewhat static, although he does grow in his mission. Not a Catholic rendition and does not attempt to be historically accurate.
Nicholas:The Fantastic Origin of Santa Claus
If you love what is good and right and just, you have to read this book. Without giving away any of the story, let me just say that Cody Urban has made the myth, the legend of Santa Claus, more believable than ever. His book has enough excitement in it to become an epic movie. If you like, "The Lord of the Rings," you will love this. Once you're into the story, you can't put it down. The visualization of the story jumps off the page. I'm seein' movie! I can't wait for his next book! It's not just a Christmas story, it's a story of life and of selflessness.
Excellent!!
I absolutely loved this origin story of St. Nick. I could not put the book down! It's a fantastic interpretation and you will be emotionally involved in this story. I would love to see this be made into a movie, as long as it wasn't turned into a hokey Sci Fi channel 'B' movie. (No offense to those who love "B" movies made by Sci Fi Channel)
