NICK BETAR is an introvert that has found his voice to make an impact in the mental health space, to SHOW WHATS POSSIBLE when you take the energy of fear and turn it into productivity for change.
Nick always wanted to be more and wasn't afraid to work for it, as a junior rugby league player he was talented but what was more impressive was his work ethic. He knew that he had the skills to get to the top but as he recalls it, “my anxiety held me back”, showing up to trial games fatigued from restless nights awake spewing fearing the game he loved so much.
You might be thinking, well there are a lot of people that get nervous, that aren’t naturally outgoing, and yeah you may be right but Nick was labeled introverted and anxious for so long that it became his identity. It wasn't until 2019 after attending a Gary V event in Sydney that he realised it was time to make the impact he ever so longed for. The Betar project was born.
120 episodes later, a website, Ebooks, Vlogs, mental health featured talks, and Nick is only just warming up. We discuss his eagerness to help break the stigma or “ego” around mental health and the need for individuals to realise that your life is more than someone's label you, it's your opportunity to live.
It’s an incredible conversation where two young men dive below the surface to get to really know each other on a personal level, exploring how and why Nick Betar is doing what he does.
