Nick Hopping got his start in comedy in high school in Richmond, Va., and moved to New York City from Washington, D.C., a couple years ago. Now he's got a half-hour special, Giraffe in the Shed, out on YouTube. Hopping and his girlfriend, Samantha Freeman, run multiple comedy shows under Stand Up a La Mode throughout the city -- including one on their apartment patio. They also own a giraffe statue, a trend that's sure to pick up around the city soon.
