Hour 1 -
Good Tuesday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour:
- Last week, we had a story from Ozarks First about tariffs and fireworks. The reporters went out and asked local retailers, finding that tariffs wouldn't impact the price of fireworks because they buy their fireworks months in advance. The Springfield News-Leader didn't get that memo.
- A historic quarter ended with stocks at records and many investors betting the ride isn’t over yet. The broad index has now added more than 9% since President Trump announced sweeping tariffs that sparked "havoc in markets."
- Economist Art Laffer explained on Fox Business Monday that tariffs do not drive inflation and said that the economic impact of import taxes is offset by corresponding price drops in exports.
- Democratic strategist Theryn Bond can't handle things are getting better. She tried to pivot and failed miserably, devolving into a snarling rant about MAGA being a cult and Trump’s agenda being an affront to the American people.
