While answering a question about the devastating wildfires, Jean-Pierre mispronounced both Hawaii Democrat senators' names, Sens. Maizie Hirono and Brian Schatz, and misgendered Hirono.

After a couple hours on the Rehoboth beach, President Joe Biden was asked about the rising death toll in Hawaii. “No comment,” he said before heading home.

Former California State Senator Melissa Melendez,  tweeted on August 14 that the state legislature is considering a bill eliminating the present requirement of healthcare providers to notify law enforcement when they suspect a patient has, or is, suffering from domestic violence.
