A public health expert says Winston Peters is ignoring obvious solutions to tobacco robberies in dairies.
The Acting Prime Minister says rising tobacco taxes are directly responsible for murders, assaults and robberies in dairies.
But Otago University's Nick Wilson says Peters is ignoring a most realistic solution.
He told Mike Hosking tobacco couldn't be stolen from dairies, if it wasn't sold there in the first place.
"Leave them in supermarkets where there have been no robberies at all, even better than that restrict back your sales to pharmacies where it's sold along with smoking cessation medicines".
