Nicki Minaj took to social media to ask her fans to help her rename her highly anticipated single, "Freaky Girl."

Minaj teased the single last month on TikTok that became a trending sound with over 127,000 videos. The rapper's original video—now at over 9.5 million views and 1.6 million likes—had many fans excited for the next single that samples Rick James' 1981 hit, "Super Freak." Days after the viral video was published, Minaj announced the single will be released on August 12.

On August 4, Minaj released the new title and cover art on social media with its official title: "Super Freaky Girl." On Instagram, she said that the title "Freak" also ran afoul of the same legal issue.
