It's her birthday today and Wellington's Nicola Willis is stoked with her gift of a seat in Parliament.
She's next on the National list, replacing Steven Joyce who's quitting politics after nine years.
The soon-to-be National MP told Mike Hosking when she's in Parliament, she's hoping to make a positive impact on New Zealand's future.
"For me that means, that my kids (all four of them) say New Zealand is the best country on earth, I want to live here too, I want to work here. if I can make that possible for many New Zealanders, I'll be happy with my work."
She there's lots of experience in the National Party caucus currently and new talent will help for the future.
"We need fresh perspective in our caucus, we need to prepare New Zealand for the 2020s and that means having new eyes and a fresh set of experiences."
