Nicole discussed how to obtain Peer Support Certification and gave contact information. All is needed a GED/HS diploma and lived experience of trauma, mental health issues and substance abuse issues. There are two levels, the state, just Google your state and Peer Certification and the requirements will be provided on how to obtain the certification. There is also Nationwide Peer Support Certification as well which is a two year program and 3,000 hours of Peer Support work with a supervisor.

   We also discussed The ACE's Scores and how they affect the physical through physical/emotional traumas. Nicole also brought up other therapies to help re-wire your brain such as CVT and DVT. We talked about DVT Therapy where you can learn to re-wire your brain.  They are targeted on to getting you out of the survival mindset, abused cycle of thinking and into a more  un-traumatized cycle of thinking. You are re-wiring your brain to see things of less than a threat until they prove that they are a threat. In re-wiring your thinking patterns you then are helping to re-wire your nervous system so it's less sensitive and they will start working together to look for the red flags, the proof that it is not a good situation to be in.
