L'épisode d'aujourd'hui est un épisode spécial enregistré en anglais. Today is a special episode recorded in English, it was recorded with Emma Rocke and Nicole Dames from the University of Cap Town. Both are microbiologists working on the Benguela up-welling. We met on the amazing research schooner Tara, part of the mission Microbiomes supported by the Fondation Tara Océan, in Cape Town. In this episode we discussed many topics starting from the importance of the microbes in the ocean, the high level research occurring in South Africa and the benefits of multidisciplinary research. We also discussed the need of having role-models and mentors and the necessity of passing on knowledge both in the scientific field and towards the general public. I Hope that you will enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it. Bonne écoute!
