This week on the Lets Talk Leadership podcast we were joined by Nigel Wilson who is the Director and General Manager at Scott Logic.
Scott Logic design and build software that transforms the performance of some of the world’s biggest and most demanding organisations.
Nigel is an old friend of host Sandra’s so it was fantastic to have him on the show.
Nigel began the podcast by telling us about his career background, explaining that his interest in Tech stemmed from his natural curiosity as a child to know how things work! Nigel then went onto study a degree in Micro-electronics and Software Engineering at Newcastle University where he was sponsored by BT!
Throughout his career, Nigel has worked for some fantastic companies including Poulter Group, ikon, BJSS and now the fantastic Scott Logic. Nigel has been involved in a number of very exciting, innovative projects including being involved in the (award-winning) first interactive text message video show for MTV!
Nigel told us about his current challenges and how he overcomes them. It was really inspiring to see how positive Nigel is about change and the innovation that change can offer.
Working in a fast-paced environment, Nigel told us about how he manages to stay sane and look after his well-being. Nigel’s leadership skills shone through when discussing Covid-19 and how he is working and communicating with his staff to overcome the difficult situation the pandemic has caused.
