Dennis Wholey speaks with the Ambassador of the Republic of Niger, Hassana Alidou, Ph.D. The conversation explores various aspects of Niger’s recent history, population, the country’s role in the region and the steps being taken to improve West Africa’s infrastructure. Additionally the Ambassador explains that despite the country's harsh conditions (major portions of the country are in the Sahara desert) the people of Niger are tremendously a diverse people and proud of the fact that within the population you will find the heart of Africa in many forms. This interview with Niger's Ambassador to the United States, Hassana Alidou was conducted for the television series, This Is America & The World in the summer of 2015.
