This week on The ALTER Tapes, AJ and Bobby discuss director Khaled Ridgeway’s short ‘Night Diner’ (2019). This short may convince you that some people don’t have an inner voice that tells you something ain’t right. Our main character Devin takes us on a ride that will have you yelling at the screen. You’ve been warned.

Premise: Twenty-something African-American foodie Devin uses a Yelp-like app to locate a 5-star local diner. After narrowly beating their closing time, Devin finds himself the lone customer to a too-eager-to-please Caucasian staff. His dining experience soon goes from awkward to bizarre to downright scary, ultimately leaving Devin to contemplate challenging their coveted 5-star rating.
