A Very Good WWII Book
It was a good surprise to read such a great book by a first time author. At first I had a difficult time with the characters; just not enough depth to care about them very much. However I am very glad I stayed with it because it turned into a wonderful story. I enjoyed all of the side stories also. Some of the characters were short lived & I would have liked to know more about them but all in all it was a very good book. I have read a lot of WWII novels & non-fiction & this one is up there with some of the best. Mr. Jacobson should write more, maybe something in depth about the Belgium resistance. I have seen only one book that dealt with that subject & there should be more since it was a big part of WWII.
Good book
Very interesting book that you will enjoy reading! If you like action packed books, this good book you will enjoy!
Nice book for WWII lovers - recommended.
Prompt delivery. The book is in wonderful condition. Very satisfied with the purchase.
Great book
I really enjoyed this historical novel giving in sight and increased awareness to military and common ordinary people who raise themselves up in extraordinary braveness uniting to fight opposition.
Great historical fiction.
I was very impressed with this author's knowledge and description of Poland and her people. He is not Polish, yet was able to write authentically. I am Polish and found his descriptions to very accurate. Though the story is fictionalized history - it is very true to the nature of what was happening in reality. The novel follows a separated couple during WWII - this plot occurred thousands of times over, including my own parents.
