Welcome to the Show

Good day and welcome to this week’s episode of the Nursing Show podcast for nurses, by nurses. I’m your host Jamie Davis and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for checking out the show this week. First up, in this week’s nursing news item, I bring you a special interview on inflammatory bowel disease or IBD. What is a new campaign doing to help people with Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis find the courage to open up to their health care professionals about their disorder.

Then in this week’s special tip segment interviews, I have two more interviews from the NTI critical care nurses conference with a look at progressive care nursing and working the night shift for nurses. We’ll have that and more later in this episode after the news.

If you want to get back in touch with me, please drop me an email. You can send those e-mails in to [email protected]. I love to hear from you and I make sure I respond back to every email that comes in. Send me links to news items you’d like me to cover, interview suggestions with you or somebody you know.

Also, a special thank you to Physio-Control, Nezzie by Blickman, and Advanced Ultra-Violet Systems for sponsoring my trip to that amazing AACN Critical Care Nurses conference.  That’s it. I will have more contact information coming up later on in this episode. Let’s get on in to this week’s news items coming right up!

News:

A new campaign for inflammatory bowel disease called IBD Unmasked is empowering those with Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis to embrace their inner superheroes and to have open conversations with their healthcare providers. I have a special news interview coming up with two folks involved with the campaign including IBD specialist Dr. David Rubin and Ethan, a patient living with ulcerative colitis. Check it out.
