This month on the Brews Less Traveled Beer Club Podcast, host Brian Hatheway and co-hosts Glenn and Ethan explore the craft beer scenes of Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN.
This week, everything was flipped on its head as host Brain Hatheway was out due to unforeseen circumstances. Brews Less Traveled producer, former co-host, and beer-drinker Laura Juntunen was able to fill in for Brian. Of course, Glenn and Ethan were along for the ride.
Laura, Glenn, and Ethan continue tasting the beers of the Twin Cities with Fair State Co-Op’s Vienna Lager (Vienna Lager) & Pils (German Style Pilsner). The trio chatted with special guest Niko Tonks, the Founding Brewer and Director of New Product Development at Fair State.
In this episode, we hear from Brian for the Beer Break, and he talks about how flour mills once dominated the city of Minneapolis. Niko dives into Fair State’s history, as he shares how the brewery was named. The group also learns about the brewery’s special canning line and how it saved the day for Fair State and other breweries during the early days of the pandemic. The conversation also veers to the discussion of barrel-aged seltzers and Fair State’s philanthropic efforts.
