Niobium Introduces The Fog

Listen Later

Niobium has launched The Fog, a private cloud platform that uses fully homomorphic encryption hardware to allow organizations to run applications and AI workloads on data that stays encrypted even during computation, with decryption keys remaining exclusively with the data owner. The platform, now in private beta with a public launch planned for late Q2 2026, runs on FPGA accelerators that deliver twice the speed of current GPUs, with plans for even faster ASIC chips being developed with Samsung Foundry. Initial applications include encrypted semantic search, federated learning, and machine learning classification for use cases like network intrusion detection, aiming to make secure computation of sensitive data practical for enterprises.
