BOTHWELL NAMED EHC GLOBAL VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES

Patrick R. Bothwell has been named vice president of sales for EHC Global. Based in Oshawa, Canada, he is responsible for managing key global accounts and relationships with distribution partners, as well as identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities. Bothwell has been employed by EHC Global since 1997, previously serving as sales manager for the Asia-Pacific and director of EHC Japan, based in Yokohama, Japan. Fluent in Japanese, he helped guide international growth, including an expanded Japanese presence through a licensing agreement with Hitachi Cable and additional licensing and distribution agreements in South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and India.

NIPPON OTIS ACQUIRES SCHINDLER’S JAPAN SERVICE BUSINESS

Nippon Otis Elevator Co. has completed the acquisition of Schindler's elevator/escalator service business in Japan, which consisted of Schindler Elevator with approximately 380 employees and Mercury Ascensore Ltd. with approximately 220 employees. The new company, Otis Elevator Service Co., will be the exclusive, authorized OEM maintenance service provider of Schindler equipment in Japan with access to all OEM spares and parts. Schindler will remain in Japan to fulfill legal and societal obligations with respect to ongoing litigation.

MIXED-USE TOWER TOPPING OUT IN NYC’S FINANCIAL DISTRICT

A 23-story building containing 120 rental apartments and ground-floor retail within 128,540 sq. ft. is close to topping out in New York City’s (NYC) Financial District at 56 Fulton Street, New York YIMBY reports. Completion is expected in 2017. Approximately 20%, or 23, of the residences will be let through NYC’s affordable-housing lottery. The Parkland Group and Socius Development Group are the developers, and the architect is Goldstein, Hill & West.
