Fairytale Folklore and Fuckery

Nirvana in Nepal

Listen Later

This week on Fairytale, Folklore and Fuckery the random country generator decided to choose one of the only countries that don’t have an Independence Day because they have never been conquered and that is Nepal! This country was a rollercoaster from beginning to end, the deities, the demons and child goddesses that I discussed this week were insane. I learned so much about Nepal and their traditions than I think I do with America. But this week I don’t have a fucked-up tale, I just have an interesting story about a millennium tradition, the Kumari goddesses. I don’t consider this a fucked-up tale because this is rooted in religion and who am I to say it is messed up when I don’t live there or fully understand their cultural heritage? The answer is I’m not anyone who can. I think that this week’s stories really show how rich Nepal is with history, tradition and tales of old because they’ve existed for centuries, since AD at least. Tune in next week to see what random country is chosen!!
