Back in 2014, Nisha Btesh, creator and founder of Hola Gwapa, was a senior at the Academy of Art University majoring in Textile Design when the opportunity of a lifetime presented itself – she worked with a fellow design student to create a Women's Wear collection that successfully walked the runway at New York Fashion Week! This incredible experience changed Nisha's course after graduation. She launched her own line and when that lined failed to produce enough revenue to sustain her passion, she had to shut it all down. Nisha shares her journey of how closing her business ultimately lead her to become obsessed with following artists who were successfully turning their passions into paychecks and that is how her idea for Hola Gwapa was born. Hola Gwapa is now a community of almost 10K female creatives, a website, a blog, an online shop and most recently a podcast.
