Chief David McGlynn is Chief of Department with the federal fire service. ⠀
He began his fire service career in 2001 as a volunteer in Iselin Fire District 9 in Woodbridge Twp NJ where he rose to the rank of Captain. ⠀
He started his career with the Department of Defense in 2008 and in February 2024 Chief McGlynn was named Chief of Department within the Federal Fire & Emergency Services ⠀
Since 2015 Chief McGlynn has owned Passion in Leading LLC through which he has been a Contributing Writer for Fire Engineering and Firehouse magazines and he has been presenting at FDIC since 2018. In 2023 he published his book “The Training Officer: Do You Have What It Takes?” ⠀
David holds Associate & Bachelors Degrees in Fire Science and Fire Service Administration from Columbia Southern University and is due to graduate this year with a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Waldorf University.
