New Japan made their now annual pre G1 visit and blew up a card for the ages. Hirooki Goto defended his NEVER Openweight title against first time challenger and singles débutante Jeff Cobb. The Young Bucks defended their Heavyweight IWGP Tag Titles against former champions Evil and Sanada in a thrilling affair. Hiromu Takahashi went back to his first  love Dragon Lee to defend his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title. Jay White defended his US title in the Us for the first time against Juice Robinson, and Kenny Omega defended his IWGP Heavyweight title for the first time, and tried to settle the leadership of Bullet Club in one foul swoop against Cody, but that didn't work out so well . . . .
