What do we do with the pain rippling across the country right now? As Jesus and John both told us countless times, love is the ethos of the Christian faith. Love, kindness, and gentleness must characterize every relationship and every interaction in our lives. What does love look like in the face of hopelessness? Listening. Being near. Sitting with. Standing up for and standing by. Peacefully organizing and marching. Writing letters and emails to congresspeople. We have a duty to all of our brothers and sisters in Christ and all others who are bearing the weight of hopelessness right now.
