No Confidence in the Flesh: Boasting Only in the Cross
Rejoice in the Lord and put no confidence in the flesh! This powerful sermon from Philippians 3:1-4 exposes the dangers of legalism and self-righteousness, calling us to find our identity and acceptance in Christ alone.
The path to true joy is glorying in Jesus, not relying on our own efforts or accomplishments. Paul warns against the “mutilators of the flesh” – the Judaizers promoting a false gospel of works-based salvation through circumcision and law-keeping.
Instead, we are the true circumcision – those who worship God in Spirit, glory in Christ’s finished work, and put zero confidence in human ability or merit. Our righteousness comes by grace through faith, not by checking boxes or earning God’s favor.
