This week Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods return to put a bow on the Pac-12 2021-2022 college basketball season, with USC losing in the first round and both Arizona and UCLA getting knocked out in the Sweet 16. The guys normally don't discuss basketball on the podcast (for good reason) and after a major drop-off of listener questions following our previous basketball episode, we can safely say this is the final time basketball becomes an actual topic on the show.
With basketball far in the rearview mirror, we can get to the task at hand, football and off-season nonsense topics like Disney princesses and Civil War generals. Starting with football, Ryan checked out reports from all 12 football programs in the Conference of Champions and passes along what he was able to learn. As of now 8 of the 12 teams have already started spring football practice with three more starting this week and California starting next week. 
As always Dave and Ryan spend the last part of the show answering your voicemails, texts and emails with questions about Pac-12 football plus lots of other topics.

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are in studio talking about the latest development in the conference realignment craziness, with UCLA forced to pay rival Cal $10 million a year for three years in "Calimony," taking a chunk out of the Bruins Big Ten media rights windfall.
On Tuesday the UC Board of Regents adopted the Calimony proposal to help the Golden Bears' athletic department after the Bruins left the Pac-12 for greener pastures. UC system president Michael Drake originally recommended the $10 million per year amount last week and intended to extend those payments through 2030. Following the vote they (thankfully for UCLA) scaled back the payments to just three years with the possibility to revisit the decision at that time.
The guys also have made a decision about the future of the podcast with the Conference of Champions holding on through its final weeks of existence.

UCLA required to pay $10 million a year in Calimony to the Golden Bears

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are in studio finishing up their deep-dive into all of the former Pac-12 football programs, talking about how the USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins finished up their respective spring football sessions.
On the USC side, head coach Lincoln Riley had to figure out a way to replace Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams and fix a defense that was one of the worst in the Power Five the past two seasons. Ryan talks about how Miller Moss looked and if the defensive staff changes, including former UCLA defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn, will be enough to make that defense respectable again.
For UCLA new head coach DeShaun Foster got his first chance to coach up his guys in Westwood, bringing some excitement to a fanbase that was starved for attention by the former regime. Dave talks about what this new-look Bruin team accomplished this spring and how active Foster was in the transfer portal.

Talking Oregon's spring game and the B1G move with Matt Prehm from DuckTerritory.com

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are in studio and joined remotely by the Washington Huskies football expert Chris Fetters from Dawgman.com, talking about UW's spring football with Jedd Fisch at the helm, the move to the Big Ten, the battle to replace Michael Penix and how the Huskies are navigating the open transfer portal window.
Coming off a run to the national championship game, Washington is in rebuilding mode after losing its head coach, athletic director and a Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback. Fetters talks about how that transition from Kalen DeBoer to Fisch has been and why there is optimism in Seattle that UW can have a strong first season in the B1G.

Talking Washington and the B1G move with Chris Fetters from Dawgman.com

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are in studio and joined remotely by the Washington State football expert Jamey Vinnick from Cougfan.com, talking about the state of the Cougars athletic programs as WSU and partner OSU head into uncharted territory.
With the breakup of the Conference of Champions, Oregon State and Washington State were left trying to put the pieces back together, forming a two-team conference under the Pac-12 banner during the two year NCAA grace period. Over the next 24 months OSU and WSU will try and rebuild the Pac-12 into at least an eight team conference and work their way towards the future equivalence of "Power Five" status.
We talk to Jamey about everything that has been going on up in Pullman during this off-season, the latest news and notes from spring practice and the 2024 football schedule with a heavy dose of Mountain West opponents.
They also discuss the opening of the NCAA Transfer Portal this week, basketball coach Kyle Smith heading to Stanford, athletic director Pat Chun going to hated Washington and lots more.
