In episode 27 of the No Fun City Podcast, I chat with Carson Ting regarding his career as a designer, illustrator, and art director. We also dive into the world of NFTs as Carson elaborates on his experience creating the Billion Buns NFTs and new developments that stemmed from that. Carson's company, Chairman Ting Industries, is based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada.
In episode 26 of the No Fun City Podcast, I chat with Alex Beim regarding interactive design and his company, Tangible Interaction, based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada. From graphic designer to digital creative to interactive artist, Alex Beim’s career has been a diverse journey. His interest in moving interactivity away from the screen and into the physical world led to the launch of Tangible in 2006. Since then, he has focused on developing interactive experiences that engage people in public and commercial spaces, and his artworks have been seen by millions worldwide. His goal is to generate a sense of community through play, changing how we see and use technology to make it a catalyst rather than a barrier for social interaction.

What is music therapy and how does it work? In this episode of the no fun city podcast, I speak with music therapist and jazz vocalist Sarah Kennedy who breaks it all down for us. Sarah is a Vancouver-based jazz vocalist who moved to Montreal. Her first album Portrait was released in 2015 and her new album will be coming out in May of 2022. She has recently received her certification in music therapy and in conversation helps me find out what music therapy actually is and how it works. A bit more about Sarah... Montréal-based, Vancouver-born jazz vocalist, and songwriter, Sarah Kennedy performs as a solo artist and as a bandleader. Known for her light and smooth vocal tone, her depth of emotional expression, and a cunning sense of humour, Sarah has performed in the TD international jazz festival and was interviewed by CBC's hot air for the 100th birthday of Ella Fitzgerald. During the pandemic, she completed her Masters in Creative Arts Therapies at Concordia University in Montréal and incorporates music therapy perspectives into her performances. ‘The Beloved’ is Sarah Kennedy’s second album featuring original music composed around poetry about universal connection, love, and finding inner peace. While recovering from heartbreak and broken dreams, Sarah was handed a book titled “The Gift”. It contained the poetry of Daniel Ladynski, inspired by his understanding of the Sufi master Hafiz. Sarah embarked on a personal healing journey through song. ‘The Beloved’ intertwines seven poems (used with permission) in original jazz-folk compositions; the work of Sarah and her musical collaborator of many years, Dan Reynolds.
