All presidents mislead or deceive the public from time to time —  the real question is when is it justified to do so?  The Real Debate panel explores the topic, debating example from recent U.S. history.  The panel concludes, in part, presidents lie because the public prefers optimistic, happy messages from their president, and punishes presidents who deliver bad news.
