There is a mental disease that plagues men all over the world… It crushes their spirit, it kills their dreams, and it destroys their confidence…

 

That disease is Nice Guy syndrome…

 

It’s the logical thought that if you’re not getting what you want in life… Whether that’s a group of friends, a job, or a girlfriend… Then the solution to getting what you want, is to simply be nice… To be the nice guy…

 

When you spouse is yelling at you, give her what she asks for…

When you boss is riding your ass, apologize and grovel…

 

And if things don’t get better… Then be even more nice.

From middle school until the age of 26, I thought that they key to being loved, accepted, and valued, was directly dependent upon being nice to others.

 

Thankfully I met someone who would challenge that assumption, and completely change my life in the process.
