Hell is real. Hell is painful. Hell is a place of endless torment. Hell is avoidable. The rich man found himself in hell begging for even a drop of water to cool his tongue but there was no relief.

Hell is not a party place where people can spend eternity with their friends doing whatever they want. It is a place of eternal suffering created for the devil and his angels but now is also the eternal destination of those that reject Jesus as their Savior.

People often think the default destination after death is heaven but unfortunately this is not the case. We are already condemned to hell because of our sin, but Jesus made a way to escape that judgment and have a home in heaven instead.
