2. Jesus’ words carry divine authority – Unlike any other teacher, He speaks with self-derived authority that convicts, divides, and demands a response.

3. The power of His word is undeniable – Even His opponents, like the temple police, were stopped in their tracks by the force of His teaching.

4. Jesus’ authority is inseparable from His grace – His words both confront sin and offer forgiveness, as seen in His encounters with Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman.

5. His mission is complete in the cross – With “It is finished,” Jesus accomplishes salvation, offering reconciliation with God to all who repent and believe.
