Pastor Ian Thompson continues the Know Surrender teaching ministry with a deep exploration of Galatians 1:1–10 — Paul’s opening defence of the Gospel of grace. Paul writes with urgency because the Galatian churches are being drawn toward a “Christ plus” religion taught by the Judaizers. Their message adds requirements before a sinner may come to Christ, turning the Gospel of grace into a gospel of works.

We examine Paul’s God‑given apostleship, his astonishment at the Galatians’ rapid drift, and his solemn warning that even an angel must be rejected if he preaches anything beyond Christ alone. The episode also offers pastoral clarity on repentance, assurance, and the security of salvation: grace is free, grace is given, and grace is never earned.

This teaching invites listeners to recognise modern echoes of the same danger — churches and movements that add rituals, ceremonies, or obligations to the Gospel. Paul’s message remains clear: good works are the fruit, not the root. Our hope is found in Christ alone. Anything else is sinking sand.
