1 Corinthians 9:19-23
Though I am free and belong to no-one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
Our task is not to make anyone grow…it is to create the right soil, a rich healthy environment where people can grow in faith.
Everything we do is about this one big idea!
Helping people take their next step with Jesus.
Welcome to Hope Church
How do we create a church where unchurched people love to attend?
First it’s intentional.
Second, we have to have a heart change
Romans 15:7
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
We have to create a culture of acceptance:
That means: Come as you are!
Romans 2:4
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realising that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
Grace is the secret weapon of the church that the world cannot offer. This is the uniqueness of Christianity. Grace. -Gordon MacDonald
The Buddhist eight-fold path, the Hindu doctrine of Karma, the Jewish covenant, and the Muslim code of law - each of these offers a way to earn approval. Grace says God accepts you and loves you unconditionally - “as is” - Philip Yancey
Acceptance is the most tangible out-working of grace -drawing near in relationship without condemnation
Big Idea:
You will be apart of what God is doing in people’s lives when you accept them.
What is your next step?
What do you need to do in response to what God is speaking to you?
